Seminars offered by the German Associations at Gemworld Munich

Recognize Synthetic Diamonds

Oct 14, 2024

The recognition of synthetic diamonds poses challenges for the trade and industry in the jewelry and watch sector. The German Association of Jewellery, Watches, Silverware and Related Industries (BVSU), the German Jewellery Trade Association (BVJ), the German Gemstone and Diamond Industry Association and the German Gemmological Society (DGemG) are offering a joint training course to help with this challenge, which will take the form of a “roadshow” to teach both the necessary theoretical principles and the use of various devices for identifying synthetic diamonds. Using diamonds and synthetic diamonds, participants will be able to test, practise and learn for themselves using current testing equipment.

The speaker will be Dr. Tom Stephan, Managing Director of the German Gemmological Society and Head of the DGemG Training Centre.

As part of Gemworld Munich, a seminar will be held
on Oct 27, 2024, 12-18 p.pm, in German.
