New opportunities for talents at Gemworld Munich
Sept 25, 2024
The topic of training and further education has played a major role in Munich, and not just since all sectors have been desperately looking for skilled workers. With the offerings of the federal associations and the presence of renowned educational institutes, the Munich Show is also an interesting information platform for entry into the jewellery industry.
Vocational School Idar-Oberstein - Harald Fissler School
At the Munich Show 2024, the vocational school in Idar-Oberstein - Harald-Fissler-Schule - will once again be presenting a selection of impressive work by its trainees. This year, the focus will be on the training programmes for gemstone cutters and gemstone engravers. Live demonstrations at the exhibition stand will also give visitors a lively insight into practical training and the sophisticated techniques of gemstone processing. The school focuses on practice-orientated training in the dual system, which is closely interlinked with local companies in the gemstone industry. This provides trainees with a comprehensive qualification in a professional field that continues to require highly specialised personnel. Idar-Oberstein is also one of the world's most important centres for gemstone processing and trade. This tradition is continued in the BBS training programmes, where students not only acquire manual skills, but also in-depth knowledge of gemstones and their processing. The works on display at the trade fair reflect the precision and dedication with which the students are trained. What sparkles on the world's red carpets is created in Idar-Oberstein. We cordially invite you to discover this fascinating craft and exchange ideas with the budding artists on site.
